Oxygen Plant

I've learned a lot by working at a hospital.

For example, oxygen supply is not only important but often times it's critical! When you run out of oxygen, people start keeling over.

And we use quite a bit of the stuff. Our hospital's current supply comes from Butwal, about 2 hours down the hill on one of the sketchiest roads with the most beautiful scenery you've ever had the pleasure of bumping through. And once it get's here, we dedicate a few workshop staff to managing and moving the large, dangerous oxygen bottles around the hospital most of the day.

With the recent earthquake and Indian blockade, folks here started asking, "How secure is our oxygen supply?" and "How much is it costing us?" Good questions. The answers ultimately lead to the obvious proposal that we consider generating our own supply.

3 months later and most of the equipment is ordered for our new oxygen plant and the building in which it will sit is nearly complete!

This has been a fun project for me as the Project Supervisor because I've never dealt with any of this equipment before. It's been a taxing project as well because I've never dealt with any of this equipment before. I suppose it's a good paradigm for most missionary work. Prepare to be thrilled out of your comfort zone!
