A Much Needed Facelift

Soon after we arrived in Tansen, it came to my attention that the hospital website was in serious need of an update. The site's software was no longer supported and the site itself looked like it was created 10 years ago, which it was. Because it appeared to be outdated, visitors took to dismissing the contents as outdated. The contents became outdated when it was understood that there were few visitors.

I volunteered to take on the task even though website design ain't my thing. It was the perfect project because it could be attended to after hours, after mama and baby were asleep, and there was no real deadline. I successfully downloaded and installed the latest software on my own machine and created a backup of the site contents but it took several days since our internet is so crazy slow. There was a lot to learn about formats, templates and server configurations. I was quickly driven to pray...

A few weeks later, a pair of graphic designers from a church in Ireland showed up on the hill behind our house. A few months later, and behold, a new website is born!

Many thanks to all those I rung in to help with this much needed facelift (including my new Irish mates!) Please take a look and let me know what you think.

  1. The website looks fantastic. Awesome job! This would be impressive for someone with experience in web design, so is especially impressive that it was done by someone new to it. I love the "We serve, Jesus heals" slogan too.
